Mr. Food Aisle's Spicy Meatloaf


TOOLS
- Non-stick loaf pan
- Large bowl
- Food processor
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey, for a leaner version)
- 1 cup bread crumbs (*You can make your own with bread slices in a food processor)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, shredded
- 1/2 red pepper, chopped
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1 TB thyme
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. salt
DIRECTIONS
- Use a food processor to finely chop the onion, red pepper and carrots. Be careful not to pulse too much; they will turn to mush quickly!
- Place the ground meat to a large bowl Add the finely-chopped vegetables and garlic.
- Combine the remaining dry ingredients and add to the meat mixture, with the egg. Use your hands to work it all together. (Sorry, it's really the best way!)
- Pour the mixture into a loaf pan and smooth out so it touches all sides. Place in a 350-degree oven for 45 minutes.
