Mr. Food Aisle's Spicy Meatloaf

TOOLS

  • Non-stick loaf pan
  • Large bowl
  • Food processor

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey, for a leaner version)
  • 1 cup bread crumbs (*You can make your own with bread slices in a food processor)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, shredded
  • 1/2 red pepper, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 TB thyme
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt

 DIRECTIONS

  1. Use a food processor to finely chop the onion, red pepper and carrots. Be careful not to pulse too much; they will turn to mush quickly!
  2. Place the ground meat to a large bowl Add the finely-chopped vegetables and garlic.
  3. Combine the remaining dry ingredients and add to the meat mixture, with the egg. Use your hands to work it all together. (Sorry, it's really the best way!)
  4. Pour the mixture into a loaf pan and smooth out so it touches all sides. Place in a 350-degree oven for 45 minutes.
